S2 Military Intelligence Trainer / 321

Summary / Scope of Work The Trainer position is for the LTT Afghanistan Contract and will train the Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers in the required discipline. The primary goal of the LTT program is to train and directly enable the Commandos (CDO) to perform their duties independently. Advisor, Budget Oversight / 319

While there are close lines in duties and responsibilities of an Advisor and Mentor Advisor; the Mentor Advisor is more focused on the assist aspect of the Train, Advise, and Assist (TAA) mission. If properly conducted, mentoring complements advising allowing a unified concerted effort in the progress of the Afghanistan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF). The Mentor Advisor understands most of the cultural issues, ANDSF relationships, and history and is capable of providing continuity for the coalition force, supported by cultural explanations. A Mentor Advisor is the “shadow” in which the ANDSF counterpart can confide. A Mentor Advisor, to be effective, must understand body language and expressions. He/she must be able to assess best methods to present new materials and goals in a way that is “palatable” to the ANDSF

Advising includes observation, evaluation and reporting on the performance of ANDSF in order to focus efforts and resources. The Advisor should assess the current ANDSF situation and conditions, understand the coalition intent, and set expectations and standards, based on all variables. Standards need to be commensurate with the ANDSF capabilities. The Advisor should set goals, objectives, expectations, and standards. The Senior Advisor will advise at the higher echelon in the Ministry of Defense (MoD) and Ministry of Interior (MoI).

Chief of Staff (COS) Trainer / 313

Summary / Scope of Work

The Chief of Staff (COS) Trainer for the ASSF Afghanistan Contract shall implement and operate programs, practices, and procedures for developing optimal utilization of combat assets and supports personnel for an Afghan Special Operations Brigade with integrated General Support Battalion (Kandak). The incumbent will report to the Afghan National Army Special Operations Command – Special Operations Advisors Group (ANASOC-SOAG) and ANASOC Program Manager.

Facilities Engineer Instructor / 285

The Facilities Engineering (FE) Team shall conduct planning, preparation, resourcing, and direct mentorship for Programs of Instruction (POI) for the Afghan National Army Engineering School (ANAES) Generator Maintenance (GM) and Life Cycle Management (LCM) program. The POIs shall include sub-courses for the following disciplines: Electrical/Power Generation, Plumbing , Carpentry/Masonry, HVAC, Survey and Design, Generator Mechanic and Life Cycle Management.
